Founded as VirtualFab GmbH in 2000 from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Technical University of Ilmenau with the fields of software development and scientific instruments.

Renamed into JenControl GmbH, leaving the Technology and Innovation Park Jena in November 2007 and moved into the new premises in the Schillerstrasse 1 (former Fraunhofer IAOF).
The company is located in the town of Jena, well known for its university and Zeiss.

The spectrum of the company includes the development and construction of innovative optical high-end measurement technology in the field of pyrometry, the electronic development and the circuit layout for digital measurement and control technology, contract programming and related database applications for industrial and commercial enterprises.
